NEWBIE: KDE 3.5.9-5.fc8 losing window settings on Maximize for emacs -- App specific settings?

On previous versions of KDE when I maximized an emacs window and then clicked on the upper right icon to restore the original window size, it remembered my original window geometry/placement.

That no longer appears to be the case for emacs (I ran a yum update lately) - if I maximize an emacs window, the "restore original size button" does not appear.

Is this an app specific setting that I need to configure (or remove some app specific setting)?

It seems to work correctly for Firefox and Xterms.
