I just upgraded to kopete 0.12.2 on Kubuntu 6.06. I am the only one in my office of 14 that uses kopete, the rest use Gaim. Since the upgrade, messages show up in everyones gaim window as having 4 hard returns before my message and 4 hard returns after my message. Everyone is annoyed at this since two message I send fills up their chat window. Since this only started happening after I upgraded I know this is a problem with kopete. Is there a configuration that I can tweak to stop this from happening? I have spent some time looking but I am not seeing anything.
I finally get what you mean maca. If you click on the pencil icon "enable rich text" in your chat window and turn it off, then send the message, the hard returns do not get sent. Seems like a bug. Guess I will turn it off for users using gaim and hope it gets fixed in a future release.
