KDE 3.3 Info Center problems with USB

Hi All:

Ok, I have this problem....
USB keyboard and USB mouse working fine....sound, X, all fine.

I want to experiemnt with my USB flash disk and the problems started BEFORE I even put in the flash disk.
I opened KDE infor center and clicked on the USB icon...BOOM!
USB keyboard, gone,
USB mouse, Gone,
KDE Info center app no longer responding and cannot be killed either with signal 15 or signal 9.
lsmod gives me an output. I tried modprobe -r usbmouse and modprobe never returned.
Cntrl-alt-bckspc to crash out of X and still USB keyboard is gone(I'm on a laptop so when I lose the USB keyboard I still have my normal attached laptop keyboard).

Using KDE 3.3. Any ideas on how fix this problem?

Cheers,
John

I don't know how to fix the crash, but a workaround will probably work: the command lsusb also gives information about the connected usb things. lsusb is a console application, so you can run it in a konsole.
