KDE 3.3.2 KDE 3.4.0 System Sound

Recently my system sounds just stopped working for no reason. I tried reinstalling my alsa-drivers, and that didnt work. I tried changing the system sound to alsa in the control center, but that didnt fix it either. I was using 3.3.2, and i upgraded to 3.4 figuring it'd fix my problem, but it didnt.. Any suggestions on what to do? I've read another post but the solutions did not fix my problem.

RE: KDE 3.3.2 KDE 3.4.0 System Sound

Hi,

here is one of the system sound problems described: http://portal.suse.com/sdb/de/2004/07/th…destartsnd.html

Here is a second fix (at the end of the thread)
http://www.linuxforen.de/forums/showthre…ystem+sound+kde

I had to do both changes. The original problem seems to be in the suse arts.rpm
The following thread describes an alternate arts.rpm http://www.kde-forum.org/thread.php?threadid=9946&sid=

Ihave not verified this RPM. So please post if it works properly.

Dieter
