kde 3.4 and xmodmap

Just upgrade to 3.4 in Suse 9.2 Pro.

In previous versions I had xmodmap -e "pointer = 1 2 3 6 7 4 5" in
/etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc
and has been working fine thru the kde upgrades in 9.2.

It no longer appears to execute. Does anyone no where this belongs in kde 3.4?

I got my mouse wheel and thumb buttons back. For whatever reason my xmodmap command was no longer getting executed. I have it as an entry in /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.

Based on someone's suggestion I created its own script file and put it in the ~home/.kde/autostart folder.

Any ideas as to why the old file is ignored now?
