time setting

--problem

using kde 3.2.3
date keeps changing country--

all settings to north america
english is language

how can i set it to america eastern time new york?

it asks for root
ok i sign on as root
make adjustments
select apply
and ok
but settings never cahnge
can you help

using debian

terminal time
is set correct
tia

Have you found a solution yet?

I have the same (or similar) problem running KDE 3.3 on Fedora Core 3 64bit.
My system time (local time) keeps reverting to UTC when I set it to London time.
