All My KDE Apps Stopped Working

Suddenly none of my KDE apps will work. When I start them, either I get nothing, or I get a task bar icon that disappears after about ten seconds. Sometimes I get the window tries to open, but it hangs and doesn't completely draw the contents.

The only changes I made on my system (a Thinkpad T42p laptop) is that I took it out of it's dock and disabled Xinerama mode. Everything was working fine in Xinerama, but now even if I go back to Xinerama in my xorg.conf I still have the same problem.

I've Googled for a whole day and haven't found a solution.

BTW, where does KDE store its log files? I ran a find / -name k*.log but came up with mostly nothing. I could probably troubleshoot this myself if I could find those log files.

I can log into KDE, and run Gnome apps, but no KDE apps will work.

I'm running Fedora Core 3 kernel 2.6.9-1.667 with:
Qt: 3.3.3
KDE: 3.3.1-2.6.FC3 Red Hat
kde-config: 1.0

Thanks,
-m

RE: All My KDE Apps Stopped Working

I found the problem...ypbind was not running.
Is there somewhere on the web a list of processes that MUST be running for KDE to work?
