Opening child windows on same desktop

Hi :)

I wanna know if I can configure an app to open his child windows in the same desktop that the program is running. I use amsn and the amsn opens the chat windows in the desktop that I using, is there any configuration to change it to open in the desktop that amsn is running?!

Waiting for answers,

Thanks

This should be the normal behaviour.

Perhaps the application is opening new unassociated top level windows instead of children.

pesky matlab figure windows created on wrong desktop

I have a similar problem. Matlab creates figures while processing that erupt onto the desktop where I'm working on something else, rather than the desktop where the Matlab session is actually running. Does anyone know how to override this in KDE or Matlab?
