cant logon

I am running Suse 9.1 under VMWare on my lap top (network card shutdowns after 2 mins under Linux)

I shut down as I have done of the last 3 months except I forgot to close kmail.

Now when I log on the screen goes black, flashes and returns me to the logon prompt.

I can log on as root no problem.

I have looked at the log files but my understanding is not upto working out whats up.

Any pointers much appreciated

if you are certain the problem was caused by kmail being left open, try and delete

$HOME/.kde/share/config/session

folder, and it should clear your session info

I am not sure its kmail, its the oly thing I can remmber that was different.

Have deleted the session directory - no change.
