Probblem w/ Keyboard input?

Hi all, this is going to sound very weird and I'm hoping I am explaining it correctly. I am using KDE3.2 overtop of a RH9 machine. My problem is that while I'm typing every so often, there seems to be a little stutter and then it gets a double letter of some type. This happens in all applications. Just in composing this email, its happened 4 or 5 times. As you can imagine its incredibly annoying.... does anyone have any ideas how to go about debugginng this issue?
