gnumeric spreadsheet file association failed

Hi,
I've tried to associate something.gnumeric to gnumeric spreadsheet but it does not work, konqueror seems to not *remember* the association.
I've tried to associate it with other programs and it does not work.
I think that this could be caused to the lenght of the extension...
