Printing and spellchecking

After installing KDE 3.2.1 on Mandrake 9.1 I have experienced problems with printing and spellchecking.

1) Spellchecking doesn't work at all.
If I click on the spellchecing icon in e.g. Quanta I get a message-box telling me that Ispell could not be started and that I should check the path. I have verified that there is a file called ispell exists in /usr/local/kde3.2.1/share/aspell and typing
# ispell -v
returns
# International Ispell Version 3.1.20 (but really Aspell 0.50.5)
so ispell "seems" to be installed correctly. I cannot find any any options to set tell the apps where to look for Ispell, but perhaps I am overlooking something?

2) Printing (using CUPS) works with most non-KDE apps, such as Mozilla and Qt Assistant, but not with Opera 7.23. It also works with KDevelop, KMail and KWrite, but not with e.g. Quanta and KWord. KWord doesn't give any output on the printer at all, while Quanta prints rubbish.
I am sort of running out of things to check, so suggestions are most wellcome.
