Hi, this may not resolve the problems on the current version of Kopete but why don't you install a newer version of it, because that is what I had to do to resolve my problem with kopete.

Two new versions of Kopete have been released to deal with the Yahoo block. Kopete 0.7.5 is out for those people who don't wish to upgrade to the 0.8 pre-releases and 0.8 RC 1 is out for those people who have been using the 0.8 pre-releases. If you haven't tried out one of the 0.8 pre-releases yet, we encourage you to do so. However, if you're running the KDE 3.2 pre-releases already, you get Kopete for free since it will be included in the main KDE 3.2 release. The 0.8 releases will be only for those users that still want to run KDE 3.1 but don't want to upgrade to KDE 3.2

Just download it from http://kopete.kde.org/index.php?page=downloads

It is almost garantied that your kopete problems will be solved!

You need at least Kopete 0.7.4 (or a similar patched version) to be able to connect to MSN.

Have a nice day!
