list of programms on to of desktop

The taskbar has a a list of running programms. This is in my case usually very full. Since I have lots of icons in the taskbar as well I would like to see the programlist somewhere else. Unfortunately this cannot be placed somewhere else. I can only change its position inside the taskbar. Is it nevertheless possible to place this somewhere else on the desktop ?
(I can remember that this was possible under KDE 1.x)

You can add a new panel in other locations.
Right click an empty spot on the panel, then
add-> panel -> external panel (or something like that)

In German:
Hinzufügen -> Kontrollleiste -> Abhängige Kontrolleiste

A new panel appears. Move it to the place you want
using drag and drop.

You can add the taskbar ("Fensterleiste") as soon
as you have removed it from the original panel
(there can only be one).
right click the new panel, then
add -> applet -> taskbar

In German:
Hinzufügen -> Miniprogramm -> Fensterleiste
