Konqueror Hanging on /mnt

I have a problem with Konqueror hanging when i try to browse the /mnt dir or anything attached to it (ie /mnt/win_c/) it will work occasionally, sometimes after a little prodding by first parsing said directory in Konsole it will runs fine until I close the window and re-open it. The problem does not affect Konsole or Nautilis as I can use either of these with no hang/delay whatsoever. There is also no segfault error displayed.

I am using Mandrake 9.1. The problem occured with the default install packags (KDE 3.1) so I tried upgrading this morning to 3.1.1a (mdk cooker packages) in hopes that it may fix itself. Unfortunatley this was not the case.

Also having some sound server issues because of the on-board VIA AC97 Chipset. This may or may not be related. KDE does seem overly sluggish though. Sound works in Licq/Mplayer etc.

System Specs:
AMD Athlon 1.4GHz
Soltek SL-75DRV Motherboard
768mb RAM (removed 256mb due to problems with the Mandrake Installer)
GeForce 4 Ti4200 (Latest Nvidia Driver Installed)
Via AC97 On-Board Sound
2 x NICS
CD-RW
DVD-Rom
Promise ATA-100 Controller
3 x 80gb HDD

Any suggestions would be appreciated on this one, no-one I´ve spoken to seems to be able to help. Also let me know if you need any more info

Thanks,
sairuk

Looks like a supermount issue on Mandrake.
