KDE-CVS-BUILD

I have downloaded the latest rpm's from ftp.suse.compub/people/adrian/KDE-CVS-BUILD/current in order to keep up with the changes directly from suse. I have found that for the libvcard.so.0 issue that perhaps recompiling the applications from source may help. I downloaded the quant 3.2 Beta source and compiled it; now it works...:) I am attempting to compile the KOffice package from source to see if this works also, 1.2.93. I have run into problems with this though. It would seem that make is looking for glib2 files in the /opt/gnome/lib, but on my system they are located in the /usr/lib :?: What is with that? Can this path be changed? If so how....:?:

Still trying...:)

As glib should not be needed in KOffice, it should work. (Only the support library for the MS Word import filter needs glib but it is not in KOffice.)

If configure stops, what is the tail of the file config.log

Have a nice day!

Thanks for the reply Nicolas...:)
I returned my system to 3.1.4. I did enjoy the new KDE 3.2 Beta in several ways, but it seemed all I was doing was trying to correct applications issues. However, I am really looking forward to when 3.2 is released. I think that it will be on December 8, or something like that. If the betas from the SuSE site have less bugs I will return to the 3.2 before the release date.

It is great to see people grinding at the wheel...:)

KDE 3.2 was delayed again (RC1 is now scheduled to the 4th week of 2004), see: http://lists.kde.org/?l=kde-core-devel&m=106871686706000&w=2

Have a nice day!

Thanks for the update...:) It is too bad that it is going to take longer to get KDE 3.2 out, but it is nice to understand that it will be at its best.

Has the "libvcard.so.0" issue been resolved in the latest KDE 3.2 Beta1 release from SuSE? :?: I am eager to give it a try.

Thanks :)

KDE 3.2 Beta 2

Has anyone installed the latest KDE 3.2 Beta2 for 8.1? (build.3.1.94_2003121013) I have noticed that the last few packages from adrian do not contain the kdenetworks, kdebindings, and kdeaddons. Does anybody know why they will not work? Will the KDE 3.1.4 packages work with the newest Beta?

:?:

Probably not:
- KMail was in kdenetwork but is now in kdepim, so you might end with 2 KMail.
- kdebindings is normally very depedent on the KDE version.
- for kdeaddons, I am not sure, but as it depends on other applications, it is aslo likely to break easily.

Have a nice day!
