3.1.2 rpm's

Does anyone have a clue as to why KDE 3.1.2 still is unavailable in RPM format for Mdk 9.1?
Where do I put my signature?

Hi!

Take a look here:

ftp://ftp.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/contrib/texstar/mandrake/9.1/rpms/

It's nothing official (I'm not responsable for damages!), but it works great on my notebook -> power/energy configurations (suspend,...) are now configurable through the KDE control center!
You can set the resolution and the refresh-rate for the monitor, as well!

Absolutely Great! :P

how about using konstruct?

I have all the tar files on a CD (I'm on dial-up), but I keep getting errors (config file is pointing to the correct directory on the cd) and erroring out.

Anyone know of a good how-to for this?

I guess that is because the tar files needs to be extracted and you can't extract a file on a read only device. I suggest you to copy the tar files over to /tmp/kde-something and point your config file to the /tmp/kde-something directory.

Good luck

I've installed Texstars 3.1.3 RPMs and they work well, but have changed my desktop. The icons for my my supermount CD ROM drives have disappeared and 3 permanent hard drive icons have appeared (hda 1, 5 & 7). How can I get my desktop back to the way it was?

I have urpmi installed with several additional sites, among them Textars on biblio. As I needed some software that were depending on 3.1.4 urpmi collected and installed everything. Works fine.

3.1.4

As anyone seen a copy of 3.1.4?

Seems Texstar has been working on the live CD recently and hasn't had time to recompile the binaries....

Yea, at least on ibiblio. I updated to KDE 3.1.4 yesterday from the RPMs there. Wasn't there supposed to be a tranparent kicker feature?
