KMPLAYER ON SUSE 8.2

Hi,

I just upgraded, (re-installed) my system to Suse 8.2, I've noticed that it has a Video program called Kmplayer, well what I would like to do is add codecs to it, I would like to be able to play divx format videos with Kmplayer. Anyway Got any idea how ?

Since kmplayer is only a frontend for mplayer I suggest to get the mplayer sources and recompile it with all the codecs. This is what I did and now it works like a charm for me (haven't managed to make it play *.ogg files though). You'll have to put it in /usr/ instead of /usr/local/ to overwrite the version shipped with the distro. That's how I did it, maybe you find a more elegant solution.

Excellent, I'll give it a bash tonight. As I actually have a working system I have not been that bothered, but unless I can get everything working on the second system with Suse 8.2, I will not be upgrading my main system to Suse 8.2 Pro. Thanks for your advice :D
