Shorcut keys with kde 3.1 and redhat 9.0

I'm using shortcut keys heavily or was what using rh7.3 with kde 3.0.3 rpms. Now after i updated from 7.3 to 9.0 i found out that most of my shortcut keys don't work anymore.

The K menu editor (kmenuedit) shows that the sckeys are there as well as checking the file "~/.kde/share/config/khotkeys". Also the key combinations with multiple choices do show the panel with names of the choices.

Difference in files i found were in "~/.kde/share" with directory "applnk" holding the old changes in menu structure and directory "applnk-redhat" holding the changes in new menu structure.

What should i do to get the shortcut keys to work. I consider it essential to get them to work :).

RedHat changed the way kmenu behaves, perhaps this feature has been removed by them.

Update.

I've noticed that this involves using multiple programs under same key combo. So one key combo for one program work (win+c for control center) but multiple fails (win+c for control center and scientific calculator).
