Slack 10.0, KDE power management problem or is it?

I have Slackware 10.0 and ever since I've installed this release I've been having problems (and I'm not alone) with my monitor tunring off while I'm working. I posted and read several post on www.linuxquestion.org regarding this topic and it still isn't solved. Many say it is a KDE kwin problem, but now I really don't know. At the moment I have KDE 3.3.1 insalled, but I had this problem on KDE 3.2.3 and 3.3.0 :|

If somebody doesn't know what I'm talking about it goes like this: I configured my monitor in KDE Power Control to turn off after 10 minutes. Well, my monitor does turn off after 10 min of inactivity, but it also tuns off while I'm working (browsing the web, typing text and all sorts of things). Could anyone tell me if this is a KDE kwin bug or is it something else, like for instance x.org problem.

Is there a solution to this problem :?:
