no sound at start of KDE 3.2.1!

Hiya,

I'm using SuSE9.0 and have just upgraded to KDE 3.2.1. Everything works perfectly, except that when I start KDE, there is no sound whatsoever. Yet once I even open the Sound module from YAST, sound works perfectly.

I fixed this by autostarting the sound module, but this still doesn't seem right to me, I still can't hear the login sound 'cos the sound only initialises after everything has started up.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
Sorry if I'm missing something simple, I'm a newbie to linux (and it rules!!)
