Sound Card Configuration Issues

Hi,

I have RH8 installed with KDE and the auto config of my sound card give me a different card that when tried to test it there is no sound. I try to Aumix and it says that it can't find the mixer. I seem to have not sub directory to usr/scr or even a sound directory.

My card is a Trutle Beach and it appear to be compatible with RH8 has per there website. I tried to reinstalled Rh8 a few time and same results.

How can I manually configure my card without that Detect Program that keep picking the wrong card.

Thanks

Pat

Soundcard problems RH8

Hi!

I'm not used to RedHat. As far as I know they use the OSS-Soundsystem. Maybe you will find some information at www.alsa-project.org.

Hope this will help you. Maybe it's worth a try.
Another page I found using google:
