USR Modem on Suse

I'm trying to get my US Robotics 56k Faxmodem working on Suse but KPPP and Kinternet both say that the modem doesn't respond. This modem worked no sweat on Redhat, but Suse keeps throwing a hissy fit. Anybody know a fix or cause for this?

Which SuSE version do you use?

Have you tried using generic AT modem drivers? And also if you are using a older version of Suse you may have a few problems cause I did have those problems too. :D

I fixed the problem actuailly. And I'm on Suse 8.2.

I linked the COM port to /dev/modem (ln -sf /dev/ttyS4 /dev/modem) and that actually worked. For whatever reason ttyS4 never showed up on my list as possible places for the modem, and if I typed it in, it wouldn't work. The link fixed it though.
