My modem experience with Linux can be best described as a slow motion train wreck. After 3 modems, I finally found a USR modem that worked. Not that there aren't a lot of choices, but I got a lot of bad advice from sales and tech support people. If you have a Intel type machine and something like SuSE , there is no mention of netodragon in the modem list. Any external serial (not USB) modem should work if all else fails.
