mouse cannot do anything inside a window

since this afternoon, my mouse cannot click on anything inside a window. selecting, dragging or resizing the entire window is no problem, but nothing inside the window can be reached, including menu-items, links, buttons, etc.

this happened on SuSE 8.0, KDE 3.1

it has worked for about a year, and I haven't changed anything recently. in windows XP my mouse works without probs.

what could be wrong?

.... but I fixed it myself already.

It turns out the auto-login feature of the login manager was triggering the weird mouse behaviour. I haven't got a clue what one should have to do with the other, but at least my problem is solved now: turning off auto-login made my mouse return to normal.

Sounds weird... Have you already looked up http://bugs.kde.org and posted the bug?
Expect the worst, it's the least you can do.
