Problems with KDE 3.1, GLX and TightVNC

I recently upgraded from Mandrake 9.0 to 9.1. I have an Nvidia Graphics card with the nvidia drivers installed and am running KDE 3.1 as my desktop. I get major errors and am unable to run KDE through TightVNC when tunnelling a connection through SSH. I get a wide assortment of errors when trying to start kde, most of them GLX errors since GLX is not available on the vnc display. However, I can run Gnome as well as icewm just fine, although I see the same GLX not available error messages. Does anyone have any idea where I might begin to look to try to find the problem? I have included a quick snippet of the log file with extraneous info removed:
