I can try to help you, if you give more details about your problem.

Do you have a general problem with your cd-burner. Can you for incstance read cd's. Is it a specific problem with k3b, have you tried to use another burner-program?

Did you set up k3b correctly before you tried burning?
Ofcorse I use windows, how else would I get fresh air into the room?

keep in mind u need to use SCSI emulation for classic cd burning in linux. it requires chaning some kernel modules and lilo configurations.

Philips PCRW1208

Best solution:

Get the source code from k3b.sourceforge.net, and compile it yourself.
Install it over the SuSE version...

SuSE disabled some features in k3b they think are unsafe, but are needed to enable burning CD's by non-root users.

Well, that's intresting. I have burned CD's using k3b (on SuSE 8.1), and it has been working fine so far. But If I encounter some problems in the future I've a better guess why, thanks to your comment. Let's try breaking it!

k3b not working

I am having the same problem, using suse 8.1 & kde3.1 -- but I am using x-cd-roaster to burn cd/dvd and that that works well, but I would like to use k3b.
