CannonSmash and Tuxracer won't run!

I just installed Mandrake 9.1 with KDE desktop. I played with CannonSmash and TuxRacer a bit, and had atrocious framerates. I installed the newest NVIDIA UNIX / Linux drivers, and now neither game will run. :(

Hi qmrq,

I would recommend you go to the installation PATH on command line and execute the tuxracer binary,

Once you got the error code post it here and I’ll have a look as I have some problems too in getting tuxracer to work with my new NVIDIA card.

Waiting for a reply. 8)

Well I know I'm not the one who started this thread but it looks like I'm having the same prob so here's my error output -

From the looks of this error looks like it could be related to a lack of sound in other games.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Allan

More info on this one - I tried frozen-bubble (which had this error under kde3.2) under fluxbox and it worked.

It looks to me like kde is not sharing a resource with others. Any ideas on how this gets fixed?

Thanks,

Allan
