Max Volume too low

Hi there!

I have KDE 3.2.3 installed on my Siemens Amilo A notebook

My soundcard works fine... from the first moment on. The only thing is, that it is too damn quiete. I trieded alsaconfig and pushed volume up to max in different mixer-applications... nothing helped... sadly ...

Is there special trick or something, ... becaue in older versions (for example the one delivered with SuSE 8.2) it was loud as hell...

Thanks a lot!

Greetings, Sascha

Sometimes on laptops there is a function key combination that mutes or turns up or down the volume. Just like as if you turned up or down your speaker volume on a desktop. Could you confirm that this isn't the case?

Ooopss... no! Sorry, forgot about this thread!

I solved the problem. In kmix are some bars for some things I didn't know. They were all turned to zero ... raising them made it loud enough!

If I got that right its something from the aRts - Server...

But thanks for your time!

Greetings, Sascha
