Is it possible?

A while ago I phoboshopped a picture of a windows shell that I would like. Since then, I've made the move to linux.
Having finally discovered themes and such things, I'm curious if my original creation (or something similar) is possible?
Picture at http://sedrick.mine.nu/screen%20shots/shell.jpg
A joke of a chop, but it gets the point across.
As you can see... Command prompt/terminal built in above the task bar. Seems difficult. But it would be awesome, no?
Also, I'm looking for a task bar that's more like windows (Linux is a great operating system, but the default task bar is atrocious).
Are there any adjustments I can make to help reach my goal?

Where should that be on your screenshot?
I can't see any command prompt.

A nice nondisturbing way to have access to a console window is Kuake

If you want kicker to look similar to the taskbar on your screen shot, resize it to "big" and use the quicklauncher applet instead of the normal program buttons.

Hm... From the look of that it would take 2 panels on the bottom. The one on bottom would have I guess the K icon still there, then next to it Quick Launcher applet, to the right of that the Taskbar, to the right of that the System Tray, and on the very end the Clock applet.

On the top Panel you would have a Application Launcher, and on the far right I'm not sure what those are supposed to be on your picture.

Both panels would be set to be transparent (100%). You would have to play around with the size for a bit to get it exactly like that. It may not be 100% like it, but it would be very close.

Oh yeah and I assumed the text saying 'load winamp; load messenger; load aim' was supposed to be a command prompt. If thats not, then I have no clue where your command prompt supposedly was. FYI: In Linux that line would read: 'xmms & gaim', or 'noatun & kopete'. Depending on which applications you prefer.
