KDE 3.1 on YDL 3.0.1

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could possibly tell me the correct way to install window dec, themes, and styles on yellow dog? I have ran the installers given to me in the package from kde-look.org, however, I am not sure which path to specify for my KDE directory. I have like 3-4 of them, and tried a few unsuccessfully. So if anyone is out there running YDL 3.0.1 and you know the ropes, I would be very happy for some assistance!
