Change Kontact Icons

Is there a way to change the Kontact icons (on the sidebar)? Are they loaded when Kontact starts or are they compiled into one of the libraries?

Perhaps this is not exactly the answer to the question you are asking, but the Icons in Kontact follow the Icon theme you are using for all of KDE. If you change the Icon theme you are using , the icons will change. You could also modify the Icon theme.
