Themes fail to install in KDE3.1.3

Hello,
I am trying to install themes that I get from kde-look.org.
All the temes I try to install are tar.gz files with the same structure
theme-name.tar.gz (theme-name/16x16 - 22x22 - 32x32 - .... - kdm - index.desktop) None have the .themerc nor .theme files.
KDE3.1.3 theme manager fails to install the themes and complains that the .themerc or .theme files are missing from the theme I try to install...

How do I go around this?
Anyone has, or had the same problem?

Help, please....I'm a complete newbe...

I have exactly the same problem. I want to use icons I found, but they're not part of a theme.
How do I do that???
Installed: Mandrake 9.2 / KDE1.3.1

Themes fail to install in KDE3.1.3

I have run into the same problems here at home. I have used a few other distros before but this is my first leap into Drake and it looks to be my last. I have been able to install themese into other versions before but not in drake 9.2.

This leaves me in a bad place as I was unable to use RH and a few others due to the installer would not load on my system and i think it is caused by my quadro FX card but I will not take it out.

Can some one recommend a distro that is quite new or new enough to support my hardware?
