Double-click navigation in Konq not working

Hi all. I figure this ought to go here because the mouse itself is actually working fine - it's the configuration which ain't.

Mandrake 9.1/KDE 3.1 on a Toshiba Tecra 8000 lappy. I've tested a generic USB scrollmouse, the same mouse on a ps/2 adaptor and the built-in pointer. They work perfectly in all other respects, but no matter how many times I turn on doubleclick navigation in KDE Control Center or choose the "Windows" sytle in kpersonaliser, konqueror activates on single-click. On the desktop, doubleclick navigation works fine. When I change to single, then back to double, double-click functionality sometimes works for file manager windows which are already open, but never for long. Sometimes single-click functionality goes, but doubleclick doesn't activate a file either. There's probably a pattern to it somewhere.

I've tried to find the appropriate config file to edit, but I don't know which. I know it's not kcminputrc, but that's about all.

Any ideas? Should I be posting this as a bug?

Cheers,
M

This is a bug in the Mandrake packages. You should upgrade to a latest version.
