Screensavers not working

Hi,

I just installes KDE 3.1.4, everything is working allright, but my screensavers don't.

When I select them at "Appearance & Themes" - "Screen Saver", the preview and the test is only working with some of them, but they are not starting after the time I configured.

I installes kscreensaver and xscreensaver.

Hope you can help me,
larf

most likely the xscreensaver daemon is overriding the distro screensaver settings.

run xscreensaver-demo

yeah, thats weird that it would just start working. Usually when this happens it is because you dont have OpenGL drivers installed or configured on your system. that is why some worked and some didnt--the screensavers that require GL acceleration will just not work at all, but software accelerated ones will.

maybe this will help to anyone with this problem, or if it happens again.
