"configure panel" want work

Probably a stupid question....

I have Redhat 8.0 and hav now installed KDE 3.1.1.

After the installation I can´t configure the panel anymore...

I right click on the taskbar and try to choose "configure panel" and absolutely nothing happens...

Is there anyone who has any ideas about what have gone wrong???

Actually the same thing happens when I try to configure KNewsTicker and the virtual Desktops, but for instance "Configure Clock" works excellent...

This exact thing is happening to me as well. Ditto on the 3.1.1 upgrade.

Me too

Looks like it's some kind of bug or incompatibility in the RH8 RPMS, because I'm experiencing the same problems.
I also had problems with starting some apps. They always complained about a function, that libDCOP didn't find (don't know the name anymore, got it fixed by moving the old qt-library to another place and leaving only the qt-3.1.2). Perhaps it's related to the bug (if it is a bug...) in the control panel?

I have the same problem but not with KDE 3.1.1

I have exactly the same problem (with KNewsTicker). The documentation says there should be a section for "News Ticker" in the control center under Personalization, but it is not there. When I select Preferences from the KNewsTicker menu, nothing happens: no error messages, nothing. I am running RedHat 8.0 with KDE 3.0.3.
