newbie here

I have installed SuSE 8.1 Pro and have just upgraded my KDE to Version 3.1.1a. Since the upgrade I no longer have themes manager, does any one know how to install it, or what package it comes with. :P

Did you install kdeartwork3? That is the package that has the themes.

According to YAST yes. When I run the install command from the shell as root, it is already installed, but when I run the command from shell to remove it, it tells me that it is not installed.

When I upgraded I ran rpm -Fhv *.rpm from within KDE.

I do not understand how it can and can't be installed at the same time.

I think your problem is related to using rpm -Fhv *.rpm. Generally I would use rpm -Uhv *.rpm.

Because you "forced" the install you may have missed a package dependency. Double check all your packages are installed. There may be a way to check this but I am not sure. I guess you could remove kdeartwork3 and then reinstall with rpm -Uhv.

Did you run SuSEconfig after installing 3.1.1a? If not, try that first.
