"Could not find Service"

I appear to have hosed my KDE. :(

I'm using Mandrake 9.0.

Most of the quick launch icons in my panel have turned into cogs and
clicking on them gives the message (eg.)

"Could not find service Networking/Mail/KMail.desktop"

Vast numbers of options have disappeared from the menus too, including all KDE configuration options except Peripherals and System.

I can run the programs from the application launcher.

Can anyone tell me how to restore my KDE please?

Hi,
try to delete your kde profile. It resists in your home directory and is named .kde oder .kde3
You can just rename the directory if you want a backup.
Then logoff and login again. KDE will then create a new profile.
Perhaps this may help.

Thanks, but I tried this, and it didn't make a difference. :(

I notice that all the menu items are still listed in menudrake (Mandrake's menu manager) too - they're just not appearing in KDE.

Can anyone please help?
