HowTo add another GTK-Theme for KDE without Gnome?

Some apps run in gtk. They fit very ugly with their grey bachgroudn/button/ugly-design.

How do i apply GTK-themes in kde3?
I knew, that under gnomew 1.4, i could change them and kde used the settings from gnome. But without?

Ah, before i forget, i do NOT have this mysterious "install gtk-theme" button in my kde(3.0.3).
