[Kopete] Can't send files through MSN protocol

Hi,
I've been searching on this forum for a solution to my problem but I only found posts about people having problem receiving file through MSN.

I can receive file from other msn users without problem but I can't send any. I've tried disabling the firewall (I'm using Fedora core 2) and opening the port 6891 in my linksys router but to no avail.
When I try to send a file to someone on my list, they get the request, accept it but then it hangs there and eventualy times out.

I really don't know what else I could do to fix this.
Anybody knows?

Thanks

seb

I'm not even sure that you can send files with msn in kopete. I know you can receive them, however.

That would explain why.
But then I read post about people able to send files but not able to receive any...

So what is the status with the MSN protocol?

a) Can send but not receive files
b) Can receive but not send files
c) Can both send and receive files

Anybody has more info on this ?

Hi,

I have had the same problems as you described.
They appear because the protocol for sending files was changed by MSN and the new protocol is not implemented in your realease of kopete.
Sending files works fine with kopete >=0.9.1. You can get this realease by upgrading your KDE to 3.3.1. At kopete.kde.org still only the 0.9.0 version is available, where sending files doesn`t work...

Thx for your reply robbeh but I already have Kopete 0.9.1 (Using KDE 3.3.1-0.2.2.kde).
So I guess it's something else then.
