[Kopete] I can't connect to MSN with Kopete 0.8.2

When I try to connect to MSN, it seems that it works very well but immediately it loses its connection showing the message below

The connection with the MSN server was lost unexpectedly.
If you cannot reconnect now, the server might be down. In that case, please try again later.

I have no problem with Kmess and gaim.
I saw that articles about similar problems in this forum and tried to remove my kopeterc file and contactlist.xml file, but still it doesn't work.
I'm a korean, so almost all nicks of my buddies consist of two-byte characters. Can it cause this problem?
What shoulid I do to use Kopete?

Kopete somtimes works fine, but few cases. :'(

I'm having the same problem with Kopete 0.8.3.

It started only yesterday, after it worked just fine for weeks now. On the console I get the following messages:

MNG error 1029: Chunk out of sequence; chunk TERM; subcode 0:0
MNG error 1029: Chunk out of sequence; chunk TERM; subcode 0:0
MNG error 1029: Chunk out of sequence; chunk TERM; subcode 0:0

MNG error 1029: Chunk out of sequence; chunk TERM; subcode 0:0

Any idea?

although this will destroy all your settings and contact lists and configs etc, try deleting $HOME/.kde/share/apps/kopete and $HOME/.kde/share/config/kopeterc

Thanks,
That solved the problem.
Any idea what in the config files cause the problem, so they can be fixed and not totaly erased?

Well the MNG filetype is an image/video. Perhaps you should update your mng packages, and install the mng-devel as well.

Also could be a bug with kopete 0.8.3. Try upgrading to 0.8.4

What is the MNG filetype used for?

Anyway, after I've connected to MSN from windows, and cleaned up some contacts I had there, this morning Kopete works fine.

I'll try to upgrade to 0.8.4 (or 0.9 when there will be sources for KDE 3.2).
