Konqueror and Java Applet

Hi, I'm new in this forum. I'm using debian-sarge with kde 3.2.3 and also konqueror 3.2.3. I have a problem with my konqueror and Java applet. When I open a site that contain Java applet, the konqueror only shows "loading applet" and the applet still doesn't appear. I've installed SableVM Java virtual machine.

I've downloaded j2re from sun microsystem too, and it works with my mozilla (I can open website that contain Java applet like yahoo-games website). But when I try to scan netscape plugin in konqueror, konqueror can't find the plugin (but Flash plugin is worked in my konqueror).

What should I do to make my konqueror can run the Java applet?
Thank you.

Konqueror does not use the java plugin but the java virtual machine directly.

Put the path + exectuable name into the line edit in Konqueror's settings dialog, section Java&Java Script (first tab, bottom of the page)

If you enable the Java Console, you will get a window with error output of the virtual machine as it starts up.
This can helpt to determine why an applet does not run.
