[Kopete] Language Plug-In doesn't work?

I have been searching and searching all over the internet to try and find some step-by-step process on getting this plug-in that came with Kopete to work right. It's this Translator plug-in that's supposed to translate messages into a given language for people. I've tested this by sending messages between my linux pc running kopete and my windowsxp pc running trillian and it never translates a single word. Is there a way I can get this to work? It would make things so much easier for communicating with some of the people I know...
thanks so much for helping if you can...

Has anyone got this to work 0.11.1?

I also have tried to configure the plugin with no success. I have set my default language to English and have gone under each contact and set their language (for ex: spanish). Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance.

nope

I've had the same experience as everyone else who posted to this thread. From all appearances it doesn't seem to work, and I haven't seen any evidence to show that it's *ever* worked.

I can see that it's contacting Babelfish (maybe I have to try with Google Translate? didn't try that yet) and getting the response, but it doesn't look like it's writing Babelfish's answer to the terminal. Bummer.
