[Kopete] Plugin for SMPPPD Connection Status
Hi,
I developed a plugin for checking the connection status via SuSEs smpppd.
The advantage is that a computer behind a gateway running the SMPPPD can determine if the gateway is connected to the internet and therefore there is also an internet connection for the computer behind the gateway.
The shipped ConnectionStatusPlugin checks for a gateway at all. This is not enough to ensure there is a internet connection in an dialup network.
Todo is an GUI interface to change the server and port as well as the authentication to SMPPPD. But this will be done in the next days.
The disadvantage is, that the SMPPPD is mainly used with SuSE distros.
How can I commit this plugin to the official kopete CVS?
I have a planning to make a patch to the CVS branch KDE_3_2_BRANCH and publish it to www.apps-kde.org. Better would be, to bring it directly to the CVS.
