How do I initiate an MSN file transfer?

I have not been able to find anything in the menu or by right clicking in the chat window to initiate the transfer. I am using 0.8.

You need to go to the main window, with all you chat buddies, and right click on the person you want to send a file to - for MSN.

You will see the file send selection, which has a rocket icon next to it.

You should be able to make it our from there.

I seem to recall reading that it is send only at the moment. Hopefully, someone will correct me if my information is wrong or out of date.

At the moment kopete is still limited to send only. Actually, I do believe all third party chat clients are still limited to send. I expect to see receive added soon, but with all the login authentication sheme changes lately from msn and now yahoo, the plugin hackers have had their hands full making things plain work. Once all this settles down I believe we can expect to see receive added, probably sometime within the next 3-4 releases.

Whoever is in charge of that part of the code should take a look at Ayttm, as I am able to receive files from MSN members using them, but am unable to receive

Hopefully, there is some sort of middle ground achievable.

the new version of kopete 0.8 you will be able to send but receive seem to have a little bit trouble.

I have not been able to initiate a transfer using kopete 0.8. It brings up the transfer progress box, but does nothing else. It times out on the receiving end. I am behind an iptables NAT box with ports 6891 to 6900 open and forwarded incoming and outgoing as per the instructions I have located.

Does anyone have this working in a similar environment? What is your setup?
