KMail and filter execution

Using IMAP, I've setup filters in KMail to move them into folders based on text found either in Subject or From fields.

The filters only work when I manually apply the filters to each individual email. Even though I have checked the Apply to Incoming Messages option they don't get filed automatically when they come in from the server. I have to manually apply them for each email individually (which kinda defeats the purpose).

I'm using KMail 1.6, KDE 3.2, SuSE 9.0

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

filter

In the configuration/network/receiving-menu you can set the size of mails which should be filtered to 1 Byte.
And you could make one (default) filter which let everything throug. This filter should be the last filter in your list and brings every unfiltered mail to your (default) mailbox.
