Firefox - Back and Forward buttons missing

I just installed mozilla firefox 0.8, and the back and forward buttons are missing.

I cant find a way to get them back and its getting annoying using Alt-Left and Alt-right. I have been to the toolbar menu and they are not present either.

Any help?
thanks
Seb

Try right clicking in the toolbar where the back and forward buttons should be, and select customize, then drag the back and forward buttons into the menu in their proper locations.

If you had Mozilla Firebird 0.7 installed it should be
uninstalled, I had the same problem and when
I uninstalled Firebird and then reinstalled FireFox
it was fine the buttons returned. Evidently FireFox
picks up some of the old config files.
