Blank 'Configure Kopete' Window

Sorry if this has been covered before, but I searched and couldn't find anything.

Have just installed Kopete 0.8.0 on SuSE 9.0 to replace buggy 0.7.3 version from YaST.
Problem is, when I start it up, I get a blank "Configure - Kopete" window.
Where does Kopete get its config information from then? I'm guessing I'll just need to move or link a file or two from somewhere.
Any advice / help gratefully received, I don't want to have to return to 0.7.3...

Does the buddy list window give you a menu with title 'NO Text!'?

It actually says "Empty Page" but it amounts to the same thing... When I start it up from command line, I get all sorts of messages about not being able to find plugins.

Well, if it says 'empty page' instead of 'notext!' then the solution may be as simple as running 'kbuildsycoca' in a terminal.
If that doesnt work then you configured with the wrong prefix and you'll have to recompile with the proper prefix.
