Sending sms with kopete and smssend

Good day,

How do I set up the account for sending sms's? I have created a script that works with my phone provider. I can send sms's using smssend from the command line, using the script. I have created an account in kopete, using this script and smssend as the delivery service.

I have added the people I want to sms as contacts. However, whenever I try and send them a message, kopete complains "This user is not reachable at the moment. Please try a protocol that supports offline sending, or wait until this user comes online."

How do I define the sms account correctly as an offline protocol, or define the contacts as offline sendable?

Also, is there a richer set of documentation for kopete. The docs via KDE help are rather "brief"... :-)
