Evolution > KMail

How do I import my Evolution mails into KMail? I checked another thread on this issue but didn't find a working answer.

Evolution is very likey using either mbox or maildir as its mailformat.

mbox holds every folder in one file, maildir has onve subdirectory per folder.

In either case it should be sufficient to copy the Evolution mails into Kmails Mail directory and start Kmail.

Always make a Backup of the Maildirectory prior to such things!

Konvert to maildir...

Evolution has a built-in function to convert a folder between 'mbox' and 'maildir' formats. Just right-click on the folder and choose 'maildir' instead. The mails can then be found in '~/evolution/local/"foldername"/mbox/cur|new'.

Hope this helps, it worked for me anyway...

Cheers, Christian
